Step and Repeat Diazo Enlarging Printer Processer.

The report covers the design and development program resulting in the construction of a 2X and 4X step and repeat diazo enlarging printer-processor. This system projects a distortion free image of an aerial film at 2X magnification for a 4 12 x 4 12 inch format and at 4X magnification for a 2 14 x 2 14 inch format and records the image on a 9 x 9 inch diazo film which is processed and delivered automatically. The system provides the capability for rapid duplication of a finished print or transparency to the operator without complicated chemistry or manipulation. Considerable advancement in the state-of-the-art was achieved by the development of a special illuminating source and projection optics commensurate with relatively low power operation, in the short wave UV spectrum. The system as developed will operate within the limitations imposed by a tactical, mobile type operation. Author
