Abstract:

This report presents stress-strain diagrams showing the tensile strength - elongation properties of 12 plastic materials before exposure, after being stored for three years in the dark under standard laboratory conditions, and after outdoor exposures of three years. The outdoor sites were Picatinny Arsenal temperare Canal Zone hotwet open site and hotwet forest site Australia hotwet open site and hotdry open site and White Sands hotdry open site. The 12 materials include polycarbonate, acetal copolymer, polyvinyl fluoride film, and aliphatic carbonate, an ionomer, polyphenylene oxide, epoxy-acrylate and polycyclamide. The acetal copolymer, polyphenylene oxide, the epoxy- acrylate and polycyclamide show well-defined losses in physical characteristics in all or some of the six sites. Author, modified-PL
