Integrated Target Control System.
Abstract:
When developed, the Integrated Target Control System ITCS will be used for remote and relay control of target drone and pilotless aircraft by the Army, Navy, and Air Force. The ITCS is a variable system, defined by an assemblage of control stations, sets and units, whose scope and function may be extended or contracted through the addition or deletion of stations, sets or units, or combinations. Variation and definition of the system is directly related to operational requirement, qualified by mission and location. This report reflects the preliminary system engineering tasks and achievements established as interim program objectives. The selected approaches for command telemetry, tracking, computation and data processing, control box and telemetry display design are presented along with supporting trade-off analysis. Preliminary ITCS Mission definitions that have been prepared as a systems engineering tool to be used throughout the ITCS design are presented. Interim reports on studies in the area of Automatic Formation Drone Control, Scoring, Multiple Traget Track, Optimization of the drone carrier relay station, Interface with National and Service Range and Definition of drone interface hardware are presented. A preliminary link budget for all ITCS links is presented. Author
