Nuclear Structure of Sc45 From an Investigation of the Ca44 (p, Gamma)Sc45 Reaction.
Abstract:
The Ca44p, gammaSc45 reaction was studied in the proton energy range from 1175 to 1900 KeV. 172 resonances were identified. Spectra were obtained at each of the resonances at E sub p 1184, 1246, 1361, 1430, 1624, 1645, and 1705 KeV using a 60 cc GeLi detector. Analysis of these spectra enabled the location of 17 new energy levels in Sc45, the formulation of a decay scheme between 1.6 and 5 MeV, the location of two new gamma-ray branchings below 1.6 MeV, and the determination of spins and parities for four levels. A new computer code was developed for analysis of complex GeLi spectra. Author
