Abstract:

The aggregate spreader is used at construction sites, primarily on roads to evenly distribute gravel or crushed stone to build up or improve the road surface. The spreader will distribute material up to 1 inch in diameter in widths of 4 to 8 feet in increments of 1 foot. The capacity of the spreader hopper is approximately 1 cubic yard. The objectives of the initial production test were to determine the degree to which the spreader satisfies the requirements of the military specification and to determine if the spreader can be adequately maintained with tools, repair parts, and manuals authorized for the use of direct or general support maintenance units.
