The Influence of Lubrication with Molybdenum Disulfide on the Cutting Surface Wear of the Lathe Cutting Tool,
Abstract:
Lubricating bars produced by a Rumanian plant and consisting of 20 percent molybdenum disulfide, 40 percent beeswax, and 40 percent stearin were tested in lathe machining under various conditions. The effects of lubrication on the wear of the cutting tools varied with the quality of the lubrication and with the machining speed. The results of performance tests are plotted and discussed. Author
