Gauging Infrared Radiation Detectors,
Abstract:
A device for calibrating radiation detectors is described. A detailed description is given of the design and properties of an absolutely black body for temperatures of 300 to 500 degrees K, with heating by means of an oil bath, and of an absolutely black body for temperatures of 400 to 900 degrees K, with direct heating by a resistance heating element. A simple method of calculating the radiant flux falling on the detector from the calibrating radiator is developed, and an error analysis is made. Author
