Abstract:

The document evaluates the operability of the polybenzimidazole PBI pilot facilities acquired to make PBI fiber by the general processes. Factors of efficiency, ease of maintenance, reliability of operation, reproducibility of product and start-up, shut-down and standby procedures were observed and noted. Process problems and equipment failures arising in service were identified and, where necessary for continued operation were corrected. Author
