Abstract:

This booklet presents a short history of the development of the airborne forces and of the sport of skydiving, which is closely associated with these forces. The history of airborne activities during the Second World War is included. Contemporary parachute landing methods and aviation-transport equipment are described, and the development of the sport of skydiving and of parachute testing programs are outlined. Author
