RESEARCH FOR IMPROVED SUBSONIC AND SUPERSONIC RAIN EROSION RESISTANT MATERIALS
Abstract:
Investigations of advanced coatings materials performed on a whirling-arm reain erosion simulation devise have led to new protective coatings which are capable of providing protection against damage from rain droplet impingement at subsonic velocities. Polyurethane coatings were determined to be the most erosion resistant of the elastomeric-polymeric materials currently available.
