L-BAND TETRODES.
Abstract:
The electrode structures of the L-67C tetrode and the r-f test circuit was modified to provide for more stable and reliable operation at high power levels. The anode radiator now incorporates a threaded copper stud that permits the tube to be operated with higher anode dissipation. More highly refractory materials are being used in the cathode support structure to provide stable operation at the higher cathode temperatures required for maximum power output. This stable cathode structure permits the use of the closely spaced fine-detail grid structure required for attainment of the gain-bandwidth goals of the contract. The pulser circuit was altered to provide cathode pulsing so as to permit the grid to be operated at d-c as well as r-f ground. Author
