Abstract:

This report covers the fabrication of two microminiaturized all solid state 8 GHz radio terminals with full duplex Pulse Code Modulation PCM multiplex. These terminals were fabricated to demonstrate the feasibility of a lightweight portable, microelectronic communications terminal. Extensive use was made of both thick film and monolithic circuit technology. This equipment has been designed for line-of-sight microwave communications as a complete terminal, or as an IF or baseband repeater for multichannel communications. This design provides the capability for either FDM or PCM transmission in addition to broadband data. Author
