LONGITUDINAL STRENGTH OF A HIGH-SPEED DESTROYER USING THE STATIC BALANCE METHOD WITH AND WITHOUT THE SMITH CORRECTION.
Abstract:
Longitudinal primary shear force and bending moment responses are presented and discussed for an extensive series of static balances on a destroyer in trochoidal waves. Responses are given for both conventional and Smith-corrected balances, and correlation is made on a nondimensional basis with experiments for other destroyer models. The computer program developed specifically for use in this report is documented in the appendix. Author
