TEMPERATURE FLUCTUATIONS AND STRIATIONS IN FLUX CRYSTAL GROWTH.
Abstract:
It is shown that striations in at least one flux-grown crystal In2O3 are caused by temperature fluctuations of about 0.14 C during crystal growth. These fluctuations originate in the control action of the furnace. Insulation of the crucible reduces the intensity of the fluctuations in the crucible and the number of striations in the crystal.
