High Noise Level Microphones Used in Aircraft

Abstract:

The objective of this paper is to do a comparative analysis of three of the present state of the art high noise level microphones. They are the M-87 AIC and M-87AIC EV 693 both made by Electro-Voice and the HNL bone conduction microphone made by SETCOM Corporation. The advantages and disadvantages of using a bone conduction microphone over a boom mounted microphone are also investigated.
