Application of Soluble Antigen of 'Rickettsia burnetii' as an Allergen for Diagnosis of Fresh Cases of Q-Fever in Humans,

Abstract:

Intracutaneous tests with soluble antigen became positive in Q-fever patients after the 5th day from onset of the disease the maximum reaction in early cases occurred after 24 hours in the majority of patients, and began to fade out by 48 hours. Soluble antigen administered intracutaneously in a quantity of 0.1 mz did not cause allergization of the organism or the formation of complement-fixing antibodies. The soluble antigen can be recommended as a diagnostic means for recognition of early cases of Q-fever.
