Coupled Transmission Lines. Part I. Theory.
Abstract:
The unintentional coupling of energy between wires in cable bundles which connect electronic subsystems is an important source of interference on aircraft, missiles, and ground systems. In the prediction of intrasystem electromagnetic compatibility in recent years, more reliance is being placed on computed codes and within these codes, models are required for predicting the wire coupled interference. It is the purpose of this report to investigate the prediction of wire-to-wire coupling. Part I introduces the general theories of formulation of equations, solution of the equations and assumptions inherent in these formulations which are common to all transmission line analyses regardless of their areas of application.
