Automatic Detection and Tracking for the San Francisco Vessel Traffic System.
Abstract:
The San Francisco Vessel Traffic System VTS was conceived as an automated complex that would free the system operators of all routine tasks, permitting them to concentrate on situations requiring human intervention. Accordingly, a radar detection system has been designed to automatically acquire and track all vessels within a defined surveillance region covering the San Francisco Bay and seaward approach to the Golden Gate. The report describes the two major elements comprising the automatic detection and tracking system a Radar Video Preprocessor RVP and a radar computer. Modified author abstract
