Time-Resolved Spectroscopy of Plasma Instabilities.
Abstract:
A technique to measure the time-resolved coefficients of emission and absorption in a striated mercury-argon flow discharge is described. The measurement technique utilizes the Double Path method and photon counting in conjunction with a multichannel analyzer. The Double Path method simplifies the problems resulting from time varying emission intensities and line widths. The use of photon counting in combination with a multichannel analyzer allows digital data storage which requires a minimal amount of time to achieve the necessary statistical accuracy for the intensity measurements.
