Recovery of Acoustic Pulse Waveforms Using Calculator-Controlled Signal Processing,
Abstract:
An electronic calculator, a digital recorder, and suitable interfaces have been assembled to provide an inexpensive signal averaging system for the recovery of weak acoustic pulse waveforms. Periodic pulse waveforms between 25 and 300 kHz, with pulse repetition frequency typically less than 50 Hz, are sampled at rates indicated by sampling theory up to a maximum sampling rate of 2 MHz. The highest frequency which can be resolved is thus one MHz. Sampled waveforms are accumulated, averaged, and made available via a plotter and paper tape punch. Author
