The NCP and the LOGGER each run in separate virtual machines the NCP handling the IO operations with CP through a software supported virtual terminal device. CMS virtual machines communicate with the NCP virtual machine through a special virtual machine to virtual machine communications facility. Volume II includes flow charts on the logic for the NCP and the LOGGER routines.
