Feasibility Study for Development of Hot-Water Geothermal Systems
Abstract:
The investigation has been directed toward a feasibility study for the development of hot-water geothermal systems for potential Department of Defense use as an energy source. The research effort has included the gathering of both scientific and engineering data. The world-wide occurrence of both known and probable sites of hot-water water-dominated geothermal systems particularly in relation to United States Department of Defense installations are reviewed and discussed . Included are the geological settings and the types of detection techniques that are necessary to delineate geothermal systems.
