Abstract:

The problem of reconstructing two-dimensional density from its line-integrals has been treated by authors from different branches of Physics and Engineering. Formulating the problem as an integral transformation a new method is presented for the derivation of the inverse. The method appears to be efficient and is characterized by the following properties a The solution has the form of an orthogonal expansion b only relevant data is used c the solution is of a convolution type. The key to this method is the use of a particular integral transform to be introduced as the circular harmonic transform. Author
