Investigation of the Corrosion Resistance of Alloys of the Ti-Ta-Nb System,
Abstract:
The corrosion behavior of the alloys of the Ti-Ta-Nb system in 5 HCl at 100 degrees was investigated. It showed that as the Ta and Nb content in the alloy increases to 15-20 the corrosion rate drops slightly by 1.5 to 2 times and only upon adding alloying elements does the corrosion rate drop sharply. Under these conditions Ta increases the corrosion resistance of the alloys more effectively than Nb.
