Eufaula Dam Spillway Canadian River, Oklahoma: Hydraulic Model Investigation.
Abstract:
Model tests of the spillway for Eufaula Dam were concerned with the study of pressures on the underdesigned spillway crest and development of a safe and economical stilling basin design. Tests were conducted in a 136-scale section model that reproduced two spillway gate bays plus adjacent half bays and a corresponding width of the stilling basin. Realignment of the upstream portion of the spillway crest resulted in improved pressure conditions of maximum head 39.7 ft for design head 30 ft pressures were about zero atmospheric. Head-discharge relations established from model data agreed closely with computed values.
