Abstract:

A general description of second-order central-composite response surface methodology designs is provided. Detailed descriptions and derivations of both the multiple curvilinear regression analysis and the subsequent analysis of variance on the regression are provided. A continuous numerical example is used to facilitate illustration of the analysis procedure, and a step-by-step complex example of the calculation of both the response surface methodology regression and analysis of variance is given without regard to the proof of the equations.
