Abstract:

Major Item Special Study MISS reports are performed on DA Form 2410 reportable components. These are time change items and certain condition change items selected because of high cost or need for intensive management. Basically, the MISS reports are concerned with analyzing reported removal data presented in the Major Item Removal Frequency MIRF report. The failure modes reported for each removal are examined and grouped into categories which are intended to clarify the intent of the data reporting. From this data, removal distributions can be plotted and an MTR mean time to removal can be calculated. The MISS reports then investigate possible cost savings based on total elimination of selected failure modes. Author
