Remote Sensing of the Lower Atmosphere by Means of FM CW Radar.
Abstract:
The report provides a wide cross section of observations including atmospheric turbulence, wave motions, rain, and simultaneous radar and radiosonde soundings. The radar reveals with unprecedented detail the microstructural dynamical processes knowledge of which is necessary for the interpretation of radio propagation phenomena. Simultaneous radar and radiosonde soundings show excellent correlation between radar-detected scattering layers and directly measured gradients in the refractive index profile. Author
