The Formation of Hydrogen Peroxide by the Effect of Iodine on Water (Obrazovanie Perekisi Vodoroda Deistviem Ioda na Vodu),
Abstract:
The authors show that hydrogen peroxide can be generated from water without the use of light or free oxygen. All that is needed is a compound having the correct oxidation reduction potential. Iodine is used to show that in fact hydrogen peroxide can be produced H2O I2 HI HIO followed by HIO H2O HI H2O2.
