Spacecraft Control over a Segment of the Atmospheric Reentry Trajectory using On-Board computers,
Abstract:
The report presents 2 descriptions of a computerized automatic control system for the trajectory of a spacecraft in the first stage of reentry at speeds greater than 7 m per sec, i.e., the stage in which the spacecraft is deflected beyond the atmosphere. The primary purpose of the control system is to bring the spacecraft to a secondary reentry that is a given distance away from the initial reentry point, regardless of the large set of possible initial conditions and acting disturbances. To reduce the volume of prelaunch data storage, the proposed system combines computational prediction of the paramaters of motion with the principles of closed loop feedback. Author
