Study and Investigation Roll/Cut Film Reader/Printer.

MICROFILM READER-PRINTERS, READER PRINTERSThe program is an engineering study and breadboard effort to investigate the feasibility of design and production of a dual format microfilm readerprinter. The formats of specific interest were COSATI Microfiche and 3M type cartridge mounted 16 mm roll film. No such device existed. One of the goals was to achieve a relatively low readerprinter cost in production quantities. The study revealed that such a device could be produced meeting the intent of the preliminary specifications. A breadboard unit based on modifying and adding to a commercial readerprinter was fabricated which met most of them. A drawing specification and usage information concerning the breadboard unit are presented in the appendix. Author
