A Summative Evaluation of Computer Assisted Instruction in US Army Basic Electronics Training.
Abstract:
The report is an extension of the feasibility and follow-up studies on computer assisted instruction CAI. It represents the culmination of an intense effort to determine whether the CAI effort is not only a feasible but a viable approach in teaching basic electronics in the US Army. The report is oriented towards demonstrating the viability of CAI in coping with a large block 102 hrs of such material under real-time training conditions. This evaluation is a comparative analysis of the effectiveness of CAI as a teaching system relative to the current conventional mode of instruction. Included is evidence on achievement, time to complete course material and attitudes toward CAI. Author
