In support of the hypothesis, differences were found in advocacy of risk over the five countries. Ss perceptions of the importance of the items was related to the magnitude of the shift in a fashion consistent with a value hypothesis. Country did not appear to interact with magnitude and direction of shift, nor was there a consistent shift towards risk on any of the decision items. An information-relevant-to-the-task hypothesis was related to the findings. Author
