Abstract:

A report is made on a program to develop an exploratory developmental model of an electronically tuned, automatic antenna matching unit for use with manpack radio equipment in the 30-to-80 MHz frequency range. The report describes the results of the entire program period, including initial study efforts in the areas of tuning elements, sensors, and networks. The performance of the final deliverable model is discussed, along with suggestions for improvement.
