Midwinter Conference of Immunologists (11th) held at Asilomar, Pacific Grove, Calif., January 22-25, 1972.
Abstract:
The theme of the conference was The role of cell membranes in the immune response. Emphasis was placed on membrane structure visualized by electron microscopy, the dynamics of these markers, the genetics of the surface proteins, and purification and chemical properties of cell surface antigens. The role of these antigens in the immune response to tumors was discussed, and there were presentations on ways of separating heterogeneous cell populations on the basis of differences in their surface characteristics.
