An Evaluation of the Longitudinal Dynamic Stability of an Aircraft at Stall.
Abstract:
The longitudinal stability of an aircraft at or near stall was examined using the digital computer as an experimental tool to solve the longitudinal equations of motion. A linear analysis determined the effect of lift curve slope variation. An investigation was made to identify the nonlinear lift curve variations needed to create the often observed rocking-chair or porpoising stall trait. The characteristics of this limit-cycle oscillation were examined. Author
