Abstract:

The report describes the design and installation of a new fan in the UTIAS low speed wind tunnel. The previous fan was installed in 1952 and has been operating in an off-design condition for a long time. The objective of the fan design was to obtain a maximum test section wind velocity of approximately 220 fps while operating the fan at angles of attack well below the stall limit. Details of the manufacture of blades, balancing of the fan and its installation are also given.
