Abstract:

Research is reported aimed at the development of a French to English machine translation system based on modification of the operational SYSTRAN Russian to English MT System. SYSTRAN is summarily discussed in the introductory chapters. The main body of the report concerns the development of computer programs to solve the problems caused by numerous multiple-meaning French words. The actual flowcharts and programs which were developed, plus a test translation, are contained in the appendices. Author
