ATC/CAS Interface Simulation - Exploratory Phase.
Abstract:
A dynamic simulation was conducted to explore the nature of the interaction between the Air Traffic Control ATC system and a collision avoidance system CAS. The simulated ATC environment was a high density terminal area which provided for simultaneous approaches to parallel runways. The CAS threat logic was modeled after a design which was developed by a technical working group under the auspices of the Air Transport Association.
