Abstract:

The report describes a method for evaluation of bridge operational and functional performance characteristics. It identifies supporting tests, facilities, and equipment required. It provides procedures for site selection, assembly, disassembly, launching, retrieving, static load, dynamic load, mobility, and anchorage system tests. It is applicable to highway, railway, floating, mobile, panel, and suspension type bridges for vehicular and foot traffic. It includes accessory equipment inherent to the bridge mission.
