Computers and Economics: Progress, Problems and Prospects,
Abstract:
Computers and computer technology have played a central role in the growth of modern economics by providing an essential bridge between the accumulated body of formal theory on the one hand, and the growing availability of large data bases, on the other. The result of this crucial bridging function has been the growth of modern econometrics and the formulation and testing of alternative policies and programs for dealing with social and economic problems.
