A Small, Fast-Response Probe to Measure Density
Abstract:
The work arose from a need to measure density in a variable density plane turbulent mixing layer between two different gas streams, usually nitrogen and helium. A small sampling volume, an output independent of the velocity of the fluid relative to the probe, and a response time of milli-seconds or less were essential requirements to be met. Probe design and testing are discussed.
