Abstract:

A general-purpose flowchart has been devised for the continuous production of lubricating greases in the presence of water and intermediate solvents, based on the principle of single evaporation. Pilot apparatus, operating according to this flowchart, has been shown feasible to make various greases. The favorable influence of the water that is present on the thickening ability of soaps is shown. Author
