Carbanions.
Abstract:
Carbanions are anions of carbon to which are attached three ligands. The intervention of carbanions R3C- as intermediates in a multitude of organic reactions gives them an importance comparable to the other two kinds of tri-ligand intermediates of organic chemistry, carbonium ions R3C and carbon radicals R3C.. The authors have investigated carbanions, their methods of generation, their detailed structures, their stereochemical capabilities, their reactions, and the mechanisms for their formation, reorganization and disposition. The report presents the results and conclusions of the research. Author
