Abstract:

Kohlrauschs method is one of the most accurate methods for determination of the thermal conductivity coefficient of metals. The theory of the method was established by Jager and Disselhorst. It permitted the creation of a method for taking into account the correction for heat exchange of the end surfaces of a thin metal rod subject to additional heating by electric current while in an oven. However, in theory the temperature dependence of the heat transfer coefficient and of the specific resistance are not considered. There is no derivation for the correction related to the non-uniformity of the temperature profile in the oven. It is the purpose of the present work to supplement the mentioned gaps in the theory.
