Abstract:

A statistical model is developed which yields estimates of space and time variability variances atmospheric. Reasonable assumptions were made to extract the measurement error. A model of an experiment wherein measurements are taken simultaneously at two stations and at two fixed times is analyzed in detail. To obtain a solution for this case it was necessary to make assumptions of equality of certain covariances of space and time variability. The model was then extended to the case of N 2 temporal observations. In this case it was only necessary to assume a reasonable regularity among the random variables representing space variability. Methods for attacking the more general experiment are discussed briefly. Author
