Abstract:

The authors investigate common right factors of entire functions and their derivatives. In particular, it is shown that, assuming F to be a meromorphic function, then if F, F double prime, and F sup iv have the same right factor g, then g is one of the four forms az squared bz C sup delta, Ae to the power czB sup delta, A cos czd B sup delta, or an elliptic function of second order, where a,b,c,d,A,B, and C are constants and delta plus or minus 1.
