Abstract:

The purpose of the research was to study gas-chromatographic separation of impurities of acetylene and difluoroethane in vinyl fluoride obtained by catalytic hydrofluorination of acetylene. The separation of impurities in vinyl fluoride is known in certain stationary liquid phases. With the use of a nonpolar liquid phase - silicone oil - the components are eluated consecutively according to their boiling temperatures acetylene, vinyl fluoride, and difluoroethane. All the components are separated, and the criteria of separation of acetylene-vinyl fluoride and vinyl fluoride-difluoroethane equal 1 and 1.32, respectively. Therefore, for separation and also for quantitative analysis of impurities in vinyl fluoride one should use nonpolar liquids, e.g., a more selective silicone oil as the stationary liquid phases.
