Abstract:

The article considers the effect of temperature, as well as the principal metallurgical and technological factors impurity content, structural state and deformation rate on the mechanical properties of refractory metals of groups VA and VIA. The temperature dependences of the mechanical properties and the influence of these factors are of a diverse character in the range of low, medium, and high homologous temperatures. Some regularities are noted in changes in the plastic-to-brittle transition temperature for refractory metals in relation to the above-enumerated factors. It is shown that metals of industrial purity in tensile tests in a given range are characterized by a tendency towards intergranular fracture hot brittleness. The plasticity level in the hot-brittleness temperature range and the limits of this range depend on the impurity content and the deformation rate. Author
