Study of Cyclopropane Derivatives Containing Fluorine. Part I. Isomerization of Fluoro-methul-, 1-Fluoro-1-Methyl- and Trifluoromethylcyclopropane Chemically Activated.
Abstract:
The reactions of methylene from the photolysis of ketene with 3-fluoro-, 2-fluoro- and 3,3,3-trifluoropropene has been studied over a wide range of pressure. The rate ratios of insertionaddition reactions of methylene with these fluoropropenes relative to propene has been evaluated. The total rates and relative rates of olefin formation from the isomerization of the vibrationally excited fluorocyclopropane derivatives, formed by the addition of methylene to the fluoropropenes, has been determined and discussed relative to the isomerization of methylcyclopropane. Evidence of fluorine migration in the isomerization of 1-fluoro-1-mthylcyclopropane has been found. Author
